This is a preliminary announcement for an open CernVM users workshop to be held at CERN on March 5-6 2015.
CernVM started as R&D project in 2008 and has evolved in an ecosystem providing all the building blocks for a virtualised analysis environment for High Energy Physics experiments. Some of its components have become critical services for the LHC experiments and are used in production also outside high-energy physics.
We - the CernVM team - think this is good moment to see where we stand and to confront our ideas for future developments with our users community. The main goal of the workshop is to snapshot the state of the project and to collect feedback and expectations from users. We also plan to have a technology session, with selected keynote speakers, in order to take a fresh look onto the landscape of technology and the evolution in virtualization and cloud computing.
The indico page for the workshop is available at: https://indico.cern.ch/event/348657/ , where update information about the workshop will be posted.
We are looking forward for your participation. If you have further questions, please contact us directly.
