  • Open URL shown on  console screen using Web browser

    https://<ipaddress>:8003 (ssl)
    http://<ipaddress>:8004 (no ssl)

    Port 8004 could be in the cases where virtual machine is running on a local computer and one does not require SSL protection.  

     

  • As the User Name enter 'admin' and as Password enter “password”.
  • Change username and password of virtual machine web interface and press Save button.
  • Configure “User Account setup"
    • Enter a username
    • Select a Group form drop-down list
    • Choose a desired login shell form drop-down list
    • Define password for the user
    • Press Save button  

       
  • Configure “CernVM Preferences”
    • Select your CernVM Edition: Basic or Desktop. In case of chosing 'Desktop Edition' specify the screen resolution and keyboard type.
      (Important note for VirtualBox users: We recommend to set the screen resolution to the same value as you have on the physical host)
    • Select the ‘Start X at boot’ option.
    • Press 'Save' button.
       
    • Select the appliance primary group (e.g. your experiment) from the 'Select appliance primary group' drop-down list
    • Additional software repositories (e.g. software repositories of other experiments) can be enabled using 'Select additional repositories' section.
    • Press 'Save' button.

       

    • Press 'Apply changes and Reboot button  (at the bottom of the page)

       
  • Press 'OK' button
